The 'incomparable' Harold, a professional tap and ballroom dancer, is a former dance associate of Fred astaire and Ginger Rogers. He exits his Gould Street dance studio in stylishly formal attire - circa Hollywood 1940 - and takes his reserved table in the swank atmosphere of Fran's restaurant.
Harold has reportedly auditioned 1,000 waffles in a variety of combinations to develop the table-top choreography of his favorite meal - waffles, sausages, parsley, and coffee. Through relentless rehearsing he has trained one cook to achieve the rigorous level of quality he demands. Harold puts coffee cream on the waffles, pours maple syrup on the sausages, and dips the parsley in the coffee. He waltzes through the meal, dramatically manouvering his flashing knife and fork, and pausing for coffee with precision timimg. In the finale, the anticipated and sought after energy boost is dancing through his body signifying another satisfying performance.
Research into Harold's case reveals extensive experimentation to find the foods compatable with his life rhythm. On one occasion he tried boysenberry flavored syrup on the sausages. This resulted in a noticeable blue tint in his hair lasting several days. The application of whipped butter on the waffles was discontinued - it speeded up his rumba.
